President of the French Maritime Cluster
BACKGROUND / Professional and educational background:
Born in Rouen, Frédéric Moncany de Saint-Aignan is a 1st Class Captain of the Maritime Navigation, and former pilot in the Rouen harbor. He has been President of the French Maritime Cluster since December 2014. He is “Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur et Officier du Mérite Maritime”.
He is also vice president of the Sea and Coastline National Council.
Until recently, he was Senior Vice President of the International Association of Maritime Pilots and sat as such in the International Maritime Organization.
During his career, he was a member of numerous bodies such as the Supreme Council of the Merchant Navy, the Superior Council of Seafarers, the Executive Council of French Shipowners and the Port Professions Group at the Union of French Ports. He is also Captain of the French Navy Reserve.
He is involved in many non-profits dealing with maritime topics, and is a member of the Board of the National Society for Sea Rescue and Officer of the Board of the International Propeller Club of Rouen, among others.
He devotes part of his free time to developing and “oceanizing” our society through reflection circles such as the “Laboratory of Blue Society” or the “European Circle “.
He is married and a father of three.
