Secretary General of Enedis
BACKGROUND / Professional and educational background:
Michel Derdevet is currently Secretary General and Board Member of Enedis. From 1985 on, he has held several positions at EDF and at the Energy Ministry.
A graduate of HEC, he teaches at the Paris Institute of Political Studies. He is the author of a number of publications, including the « Energy, a networked Europe » report, presented to the President of the French Republic on February 23rd 2015.
Since January 11th 2013, he has been Secretary General and Board Member of Enedis (ex ERDF). Between April 2000 and January 2013, he was an Executive Committee Member, Communication and Public Affairs Director, at RTE. From October 1998 to March 2000, he was Deputy General of France’s Communal Electricity Affairs. Between June 1997 and October 1998, he was Principal private secretary of Industry Minister, Christian Pierret.
Between April 1993 and May 1997, he was chargé des Relations Institutionnelles (Parlement Européen, Commission) à la Mission Europe – Direction Générale – Electricité de France. In charge of Institutional Relations (European Parliament, Commission) for the Europe Mission – General Directorate – France Electricity. From April 1992 to March 1993, he was Principal private secretary of Martin MALVY, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, in charge of Relations with the Parliament, Spokesman for the Government (April to October 92) and Budget Minister (October 92 to March 93).
From March 1988 to April 1992, he was in charge of relations with the elected representatives (National Assembly, Economic and Social Council Senate), then Communication Director Attaché – EDF’s General Management. Between April 1986 and February 198, he was the Head of recruitment – EDF General Affairs Department.
From January 1985 to March 1986, he was Project Manager for Martin Malvy, State Secretary of Energy to the Minister of Industrial Redeployment and Foreign Trade.
From January 1983 to December 1984, he was Public Law and Political Science Assistant at the Montpellier Faculty of Law. Researcher at the Center for Studies and Research on State Theory at the Montpellier Faculty of Law; Technical Advisor to Gérard Saumade’s Cabinet, President of the General Council of Hérault.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Public Law (1981-1982), along with a D.E.A. de Droit Public (1983). He is also a Montpellier 1 Faculty of Law and Economics Laureate, and holds an HEC Executive MBA from the 2005 Promotion.
