BACKGROUND / Professional and educational background
Patrick Gounelle started his career with Arthur Young (later Ernst & Young) in 1973, for which he became president of the French & South Europe branch from 1997 to 2008, and member of the Global Executive Board from 1997 to 2009. Patrick Gounelle has simultaneously committed to the Positive Planet Group since its creation by joining the Executive Board. After leaving Ernst & Young, he decided to take part in Positive Planet’s activity, and more specifically Positive Planet France. He is now President of the Positive Planet Foundation’s Board of Management, as well as treasurer for the “Un avenir ensemble” Foundation, and administrator or advisor for various companies.
ACHIEVEMENT / What does the project/initiative/startup/company you will be presenting at the Positive Economy Forum consist of?
The Positive Planet Foundation, recognized to be of public interest and created in 2010, aims to raise funds for the various programs it drives, which work to offer a better world for future generations, while raising awareness on positive economy.

IMPACT / How do you evaluate the economic, social, political and environmental impact of your project / action?
Three entities are gathered under the Foundation: the Positive Planet NGO, created in 1998, helping unprivileged communities and providing the means for them not to depend on charity by promoting entrepreneurship, access to financial services and markets in the world (we are implanted in over 30 countries); Positive Planet France guides future entrepreneurs in France, thanks to numerous offices in priority neighborhoods; and finally the positive economy think tank, which promotes, through events (Forums, Awards, Positive Cinema Week), discussions, publications (Positive Book, Atlas), and indexes (nations, businesses, territories), all initiatives in the interest of future generations.
